Bold Prayer.

Honestly, these last few weeks have been rough.  It's as though all these little things feel the need to go wrong, break, or die completely on me... so I figure I must be doing something right for the Lord of the enemy feels the need to inconvenience me so!  Anyway, as I was on my way to work this morning, I was praying aloud - which I have been doing regularly ever since my stereo speakers stopped working last month - and I immediately felt the urge to pray a fairly bold prayer.  It was scary, but I was excited to say it aloud.  And so, in the midst of driving amongst the flurry of cars on the freeway, I uttered the following words...

"Lord, do whatever You need to do in me and to me to make me who You want me to be.  Convict me, refine me, mold me more in Your image.  Do absolutely whatever You see necessary so that you can be best glorified in and through me!"

All I have to say now is this: if you decide to pray a bold prayer like the one above, be prepared for God to answer in a mighty and likely unforeseen way.  It will be scary, you will feel unprepared and inadequate, and you may regret ever praying that prayer (just kidding)!  But know that if the Lord has chosen to do a work through you, He needs to first do a work - or several - in you.  Have faith in the process, brothers and sisters.  He is good, after all!

I now find encouragement and affirmation in this verse from Exodus 9:16...
"I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in the earth."
