"With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last. The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top
to bottom. And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, saw how he died,
he said, 'Surely this man was the Son of God!'"
Good Friday marked the day of Christ's death - the final sacrifice - the blood of the lamb being shed for the sins of all people, which destroyed the temple and tore the veil and so symbolized direct access to God through Christ for all who believe.
Today, this holy Saturday, marks the day of stillness... the day of mourning and grieving over the death of Jesus.
...but Sunday is coming.
