The Praise Team on stage.  I'm the one in red!

Hi friends!  I know that I have been completely silent all month, but I promise that I am actually alive!  Honestly, July was spent almost completely in preparation for VBS, the week in which the children's ministry at my church hosts over 700 children and 300 volunteers.  Now, I am no newbie to VBS, but I have never been a part of one this massive... and it was amazing!  I was in charge of the Praise Team, a group of 23 kids ranging in age from 6-12 years old, and we met for 5 weeks leading up to VBS learning and practicing 8 different songs plus dance moves.  It was so cool for me to see these kids really understand that, although we would be up on the stage each day with lights shining on us, it wasn't at all about us.  By the end of our practices, they would be the ones reminding me that our purpose on Praise Team was to help lead others in their worship to Jesus.  I was one proud ministry leader!  Also, at my church we offer something called "extended camp" for incoming 4th-6th graders which goes from noon (when normal VBS programming ends) until 9pm, and I decided to partake in that program, too.  It was exhausting and I got sunburned a few times, but it was so much fun to just hang out with a lot of the kids that I see on the weekends in my room (I am the 3rd/4th grade ministry leader)!  I should also mention that at VBS, 286 kids chose to put their trust in God for the first time.  Praise Him!

So that is what has been consuming me for the last few weeks.  And now I am getting ready to take off to Atlanta and Nashville tomorrow!  I'm not bringing my computer with me, in an attempt to actually relax and have a vacation, so be sure to keep up with my adventures on Instagram and Twitter!
