Sunshine & Springtime.

These past few days have been quite eventful for it being a weekend.  On Friday, we had my university's annual "Passing of the Torch" event when the current leadership team passed the torch on to the next year's leadership team.  We played a huge icebreaker game called "Viking King", hence the big mush pot picture below.  Being an RA on campus (thus, being on leadership this year), I was in the group that planned the dinner.  It was Italian themed, so we catered from a local Italian restaurant and decorated using a red, black, and white theme.  The ladies who planned the dinner - including myself - dressed as hostesses and decided to each make a dessert, so there was quite the array of delicious goodies (I made mini cream cakes topped with fresh berries, yum!)  Next year, I will still be on the leadership team, but will be serving as the Publicity coordinator for student activities, which is just a fancy title for making posters and taking pictures at all of the events!  That means I get to use my still-relatively-new camera even more!

On Saturday morning, the women's fellowship group "Bellisima" hosted a clothing swap for some of the ladies on campus, which was quite enjoyable.  I mean, when are the words "free clothes" not smile-worthy? Saturday night I went to my good friend's bridal shower that she was having on campus with a few close friends.  I am so excited because she and her fiance asked me to capture their big day in June (insert squeal of excitement here), so I told her I'd bring my camera along to the shower as well.  And my, oh my, she is going to be such a beautiful bride!  We played a few games, decorated cupcakes, and enjoyed the always lovely Rocklin sunset.

Along with all of the lovely things that happened this weekend, I also found out some not-so-wonderful news regarding a family member.  While keeping the details to myself, I ask that you keep my family in your thoughts and prayers.  For that, I would be so grateful.

Until next time, I promise to soak up the sunshine, enjoy time with friends, and trust God.  Oh, and write all of those papers that are calling my name.  Bright side: summer is only 4 short weeks away!
