Know Your Worth

My heart breaks today.  My heart breaks for the women who don't know their worth.  My heart breaks for those who think that they need to look perfect, act perfect, be perfect in a world of imperfection.  My heart breaks for those who so desperately seek acceptance that they stop at nothing to get it.  My heart breaks for the woman whose father did not affirm her value growing up; for the woman who uses her body to get what she wants; for the woman who loves too hard in order to just feel something; for the woman who looks in the mirror and sees something she hates; for the woman who seeks refuge in destructive habits; for the woman who believes she is unworthy.  My heart breaks for those who are looking for love in all of the wrong places.  My heart breaks.

Your worth is not determined by the size of your body, the clothes you wear, the people you hang out with, or your relationship status.  Your worth is not measured by the number you see on the scale, the letter grades you receive in school, or the color of your skin.  Your worth is not about your talents, your wealth, or your sex appeal.  These things mean nothing.

Don't you know who you are as a woman?  Haven't you heard?  You are a beloved and beautiful daughter of God!  You are being pursued by the Lord of all creation!  He adores you and is fervently chasing after your heart to claim you as His own!  He wants you, all of you, every little piece of you.  Your sins have been paid for, and His grace and love are freely yours.

You are worthy of acceptance.  You are worthy of respect.  You are worthy of love.  He accepts you just as you are!

With a heavy and broken heart, I pray with everything I am that you would truly know your worth.
