I apologize for my absence lately.  I have been busy, busy, busy, and only have twenty days until I graduate from college!  I am also in my last weeks at my current job and am simultaneously preparing for a national higher ed student development conference (ACSD) that I am going to in early June.  It's going to be a crazy few weeks!!

He's Not Safe

"Praise God that He hasn't changed - He's still the same wonder-working God who walked with Peter on the water.  He still does the unexpected.  But we have to do our part.  We have to keep our eyes on Him.  In the process, He may change our attitudes, our expectations, our habits, our health - whatever needs changing.  He can do anything - He's God.  You can trust Him and count on Him.  He is faithful. Faithful, but not predictable.  Things may not turn out how you want.

Right vs. Easy

Honestly, how true is this quote?  Earlier this evening, I set off on a venture to organize and simplify my life before I head back to school in two weeks - but alas, I was sidetracked when I decided to read through my journal.  I enjoy doing this every once in a while just to be reminded of the things God has done and is doing in my life, which is always good fun!  In reading, I came across an entry this summer in which I wrote the phrase "just because it's easy doesn't mean it's right".  Here's what I think: it's not always extremely clear, by there is a difference between the thing that is right and the thing that is easy; and sure, sometimes what is right IS easy.  Sometimes.  Most of the time, however, it's not.  In fact, what is right is often difficult.  I am reminded now of the song lyric, "Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same" (The Fray, All At Once).
