Q: How long have you been doing photography?
A: I started dabbling in photography in college, but picked it up more seriously a while living in Nashville in 2015. Since then, I've been shooting engagements, high school seniors, personal headshots, and family photos, as well as a few conferences and events.
Q: Why do you do it?
A: Simply put, there's nothing more satisfying or life-giving than encouraging others in their uniqueness and beauty, and then having the privilege of capturing it forever through a photograph in the most authentic and timeless way. I have always loved the photos that can be looked back on 10, 20, or 50 years from when it was taken and bring one right back to that moment. Thus, my goal is to be able to give that kind of gift to every one of my clients.
Q: What camera and editing programs do you use?
A: I shoot on a Canon 7D Mark II, most often paired with my 50mm f/1.4 lens, and I edit in Adobe Lightroom.
Q: WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE SESSION fee?
A: So much good stuff! We will start with a short consultation — either in person or through video — to discuss all of the details prior to your booked session. Your session will then be 60-90 minutes of pure fun, full of plenty of laughs and awkward dance moves — straight from yours truly. I am passionate about capturing the real, wild, raw moments, so you can be sure that your photos will range from the timeless, posed shots to the ones you never even knew I was taking. Your experience will wrap up with an online gallery of high-res, professionally edited images that will be delivered via email with a link to your personalized digital gallery.
Q: HOW MANY IMAGES WILL I GET + when?
A: It depends on the type of session, but typically anywhere from 30-50 edited images... but I admit that I often get excited during the editing process, so don't be surprised if you end up with more (hooray!). Turnaround time is typically 2-3 weeks, after which you will receive all photos in a personalized online gallery.
Q: what is the best time to book + take photos?
A: I recommend booking 1 month in advance, but please feel free to reach out so that we can work together to find a date that works best for you! The ideal time to shoot any outdoor locations during golden hour — around 1 hour before sunset — which provides the most beautiful light.
Q: How does payment work?
A: A $50 non-refundable deposit is due at booking, with the remainder of payment due on or before the session date. Preferred forms of payment are cash, check, or Venmo.
Q: HOW FAR Will YOU TRAVEL for a session + can you recommend locations?
A: I am currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area, so I can be available almost anywhere on the Peninsula, as well as the Sacramento area from time to time. Upon booking, we can discuss location possibilities for your session. If you have somewhere specific in mind, I'd love to hear it, otherwise we can look at a list together and pick the best option for your shoot!
